Raised Bed, Square Foot, Vertical Growing Workshop

Date: TBD
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
What: Raised Bed, Square Foot and Vertical Growing
          with Vermicomposting Garden Tower 2

For those who don't have lots of space or time to devote to gardening these methods may be ideal. Learn about Raised beds and square foot gardening. These methods are easier on the back and reduce weeding as they are compact for maximizing growth in a small footprint. We will discuss companion planting as well as create an easy way to design and plant.

Vertical growing is really "moving up" as people discover the 3 dimensional approach to growing both outdoors as well as year round indoors. The Garden Tower 2 is a vertical soil based vermicomposting eco system that allows you to grow a wide variety of herbs and veggies in a 4.5 square foot area.

The growing practices follow organic principles.

Presented by Frank Tecklenburg of Earth Connections.

The Italian Canadian Association of Saskatoon is a non-profit organization operating in thanks to the generous time given by its volunteer Board of Directors and other members. The purpose of our organization is to maintain and promote: italian language, culture & tradition in Saskatoon sharing it with the community as a whole.

All funds raised through our programs, events & corn maze go towards the continued development of the Saskatoon Italian Cultural Centre.

Our current goal is to raise the funds necessary to develop three soccer pitches, with one of the fields dedicated to youth soccer in Saskatoon.

Watch for details regarding "Festa Italiana", a fun event for the whole family!
